November 7, 2008

CertaintyPoint announced today that it has acquired video surveillance software and other intellectual property from VisualGate Systems, Inc., a leading developer of Ethernet over Powerline technology.

Under the agreement, CertaintyPoint will pay VisualGate a fixed sum for all rights to assets that include:

  • VueSoft digital video surveillance management software
  • USA patent No. 10/935,175 for system, method and apparatus for adaptive video surveillance over Powerlines
  • Pending patent for method, apparatus and system for configuring and managing monitoring devices through a set-top box
  • Single cable Power & Ethernet design

VueEdge analogue to digital products and DVRs designed for the security industry are not included in the sale.

CertaintyPoint will develop VueSoft for the residential and small business markets. VisualGate will have the right to license the improved software for a fixed fee. Such right will expire November 30, 2009.

“We are extremely excited to have this opportunity to develop leading edge products based on VisualGate technology.” said Isaac Raichyk, president and chief executive officer of CertaintyPoint. “Finally, home owners and small businesses worldwide will be able to install a quality surveillance system in minutes. No new cables. No mess. Digital video is transmitted over existing electrical wires to a local PC or through a router to the Internet.”

“VisualGate has always been more interested in the professional security market segment and is happy to see CertaintyPoint commercialize this technology for the home and small business markets,” said David Kerzner, Chairman of VisualGate. “We intend to raise funds to complete our VueEdge analogue to digital products.”
